Filmmaker Ashiq Abu said in response to the question of whether a man or woman makes a movie, it doesn’t matter. If the idea behind the film is progressive, then welcome it no matter who makes it. This is his personal opinion, and he responded to the media in this way.
It is not important whether the person making the film is male or female. What matters to me as a viewer is what the film is about. If the idea being conveyed through the film is progressive, then whoever made it, we should welcome it with open arms.
He talked about Rima Kallingal and said that he is not in the same world as her. He also mentioned that their perspectives and worlds are different, and Aashiq said that he believes that when Rima speaks, it is her personal opinion. He added that his life and experiences are different from hers, and that he is only standing together with her, and that he is not in the same world as Rim.
The status of being a woman is very different from their world. Sometimes I can’t even imagine it. There are limits to understanding it. Only those who experience it directly can understand it. None of us have ever experienced it, so we haven’t been able to understand it. So, it’s not just about standing together, we can’t do anything together.
